"We even have a diverse complement of minor Archeotech items, some from as far away as Segmentum Solar!"
Nicole did tell Drakios about that navigation device which allows short Warp trips without being able to see the Astronomicum, and they will need to leave the system eventually. The auction seems like a good place to start looking for it.

Well, that was fun. Probably did the governor a favor with that purge.
They did, he did mention he hoped they would all die in duels.

Arianwyn, your father isn't going to skimp on your training. If he weren't a blade master himself, he'd have hired one to instruct you.
Grandfather, but yes.

"Woah, did the Inquisition decide to do some housecleaning?"
"No actually. A bunch of jackasses just challenged a rogue trader and his associates."
Creating an obvious target for all kinds of malcontents to attack (be it the Inquisitor themself or someone else) is an old trick by the Inquisition to get rid of possible problems and get leads to more. So it can be both the Inquisition doing some housecleaning and jackasses challenging someone outside their league at the same time.

nice chapter thx for writing it
fun seeing some useless noble's gaining the darwin awards
wonder if there total worth will be added to two girls
Unlikely, if noble houses risked losing their fortunes and holdings in duels with outsiders they would not allow their members to participate.

Nicole does have her custom Omnissian Axe, which is both a Force and a Power weapon. It is very doubtful that she'll find a melee weapon comparable to her axe anywhere on this planet.
Just watch Nicole finding an Anathame dagger.

To be fair, the Sororitas weren't a thing when Lael joined the armed forces of the Imperium. Given her combat abilities, I expect that she would fit right in with them. It's the religious background that she's lacking... and that she might take offence to. After all, she comes from the time when the
Emperor was very clearthat he was not a god.
The cannoness isn't there to scout Lael as a potential member of the SoB, she is there to scout Lael as a potential Imperial Saint.

now that i think about it, where are her parents? Drakios is her grandfather
Her mother is commanding a ship near their home planet as part of its defences. Probably so the current head of the house and the heir are not both somewhere out of contact at the same time.

I honestly don't understand death cults but then I just think of them as the ultimate end point of all the people who joke about killing themselves.
Most death cults are more focused on killing others in the name of the Emporer, though their own death might also be part of their cult.

Between that and the paintings, I'm shocked he hasn't been shot yet.
When they released everyone from the stasis tubes the survivors were thoroughly checked for any possible taint. I don't think he was already corrupted at that point, and even now it might be very minor.

I don't think that was unintended.

Awww. I was kind of hoping Nicole would pull out her pistol, shoot the corpse, then continue to shoot the corpse with each of her pistols once. Guess that would have been a bit much.
It would also have created a hole in the floor. And maybe the one below it, too.

Really hope Cook is not in the Cold Trade. Trying to hold a Cold Trade auction with an Inquisitor in system is the height of foolishness. Although Drakios technically has the paperwork necessary to keep any alien tech bought in his house's name, even if an Inquisitor crashes the auction, unless said Inquisitor directly asks.
Cook might be a minor Rogue Trader himself. But considering he invited the AdMech and a Space Marine Captain I doubt he would show them something illegal even if he had it.
